Looking to get your new product out there? Well, the Internet offers a very good platform for you to market your brand and really make several people aware of what you have. People nowadays?whether young or old?just can?t survive a week without the Internet, and you can use this reality to your advantage through five simple tips:

1)?Keep it Short and Simple (KISS)

I know this sounds very clich?, but people have very short attention spans online?unless they?re on Candy Crush. A long paragraph of what your product is about automatically sends them over to another, more interesting webpage.

Condense the whole essence of your product into one simple sentence or tagline, one that?s really catchy and striking. The description of your product should only be a few sentences long. As one of my professors put it, papers (or in this case, e-mails) should be like mini-skirts. Long enough to cover the basics, but short enough to keep you hooked. *wink, wink*

2)?Focus on the Why

Simon Sinek said in his TED talk entitled ?How Great Leaders Inspire Action? that there are three circles with which leaders are concerned when it comes to innovation and communicating this innovation: the Why at the center, the How encircling it, and the What at the outermost circle.

He said that most companies, or most people, try to convince others to buy their product simply by saying what their product is, and a little bit of how their product is different from others?. Most people don?t buy that.

The key to making people stay loyal is to have them share in your belief. Focus on the why?why do you do what you do? Why do you exist as a company? Why should anyone care? ?The goal is not to do business with everybody who needs what you have; the goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe.?

3)?Walk your Talk

Consistency is key when it comes to e-mail marketing. If you say you?re going to give a prize to a certain person at a certain time, make sure you go through with it. If you say you?re going to make an announcement at a certain time, do it.

If you say you?re going to meet up with a client, show up. If you say your product does this and that or has so-and-so, make sure it?s true. You will lose your reputation, your product, and even more, your potential market, if you are not consistent with what you say and what you do.

4)?Engage your Audience

Oftentimes, people are just waiting for something to do online, even if they have other things to do. Why not use this to your advantage and entertain them? Have simple online games with prizes and freebies to motivate your target market to know more about your product and eventually buy it.

In my opinion, even just a question-and-answer portion will do. And besides e-mail, you can also utilize the powers of social media?Twitter, for example. There?s just something about saying that ?the first five people who tweet the correct answer wins a prize!? It also helps you reach out to and build relationships with your audience.

5)?Design it Well

Make sure you design your advertisements well. This says a lot about what your product is, and possibly how effective it can be. This is important because advertisements are your first point of contact with your customers. And as you very well may know, first impressions last. So see to it that you use nice, matching colors, fonts that are pleasing to the eyes that are coupled with amusing, related photos or cliparts.

To be honest (and as you probably have noticed), these tips aren?t exactly new. They aren?t even as tricky or as magical as you think. All of these are just simple ways to make the most out of your resources and your creativity. The key is perseverance and passion. Put your heart to what you are doing. Your main focus is having people share in your beliefs, not just making a profit.
