Although, as many people will know, the iPhone 5 is out now, the 4S is a great (quite a lot cheaper) alternative that isn't actually that much worse. The factor that really stands out for me on the iPhone is its camera. It's 5 megapixel which provides really crisp, clear images. The main feature of a phone is its ability to send/receive calls/texts. I must say obviously it does make a huge difference which network you're on but after having owned my iPhone on a few different mobile networks, calling is crisp and clear and the features of the phone app are really advanced. The loudspeaker, that on many phones massively reduces the quality of the call sound but on the 4S the quality is still clear. Another thing that contributes to the iPhone being one of the worlds best phones is the software (iOS). The App Store is great as well, with 800,000 apps to download your never short of something to do. I paid ?450 for my iPhone and it is actually one of the best purchases f my life as I never get bored of it. I'm writing this review on it on the web browser (safari).
I think that the iPhone is probably better in black as apparently the white iPhone looks dirtier after a while and could possibly make the screen look dimmer in brightness. The only bad thing about my 4S is the battery life. It starts off (when you buy it) excellent, but after a few months of charging, a full charge will last only about 30 hours if your on the phone a lot. Another really good touch is the ability I back up your iPhones apps and settings to iCloud using your apple ID. However, this does take about 15 minutes to do, but its worth it as if you accidentally wipe your iPhone somehow, you can just download all your stuff again!
Also the built in apps such as 'music' (iPod) and maps are really good. Siri is a personal favourite of mine, ask him what the weather is going to be like and he'll tell you (he's also got a few jokes in there).
But overall, the iPhone covers all the bases for me: easy to use; beautiful design and a really responsive processor and touch screen.
Summary: iPhone 4S is a great phone that is designed well and works well everyday with a great range of apps.
