First, you need to identify your niche target market. Will you be starting a blog, selling products, or doing online advertising? One you know who you are targeting, and what you will be selling to them, it gets to be a little easier from there. Find a web host, register a domain, and put up a site.
From there, it is all about traffic. SEO your site, comment in forums, and comment on blogs to try and get your traffic levels up. If you have traffic, then you have customers to sell to. Focus on the who and whats first, then learn about the hows through trial and error.
